The Utah Judiciary is aware of a scam involving text messages that falsely appear to come from the courts and demand payment through links or QR codes. These messages are not legitimate - courts do not request payments this way, and individuals should not respond or provide any personal or financial information. More Info

I received a summons

I received a summons. What do I do now?

Please follow the instructions on the summons, which will let you know how to keep in touch.

You need to let your employer and teachers know that you are "on call" for jury service. Do not take time off from work or school until you have actually been instructed to come to the courthouse.

If you do not come to the courthouse as instructed, the court could hold you in contempt and impose a fine. If you have an emergency and cannot come to the courthouse contact the clerk as soon as possible.
