The Utah Judiciary is aware of a scam involving text messages that falsely appear to come from the courts and demand payment through links or QR codes. These messages are not legitimate - courts do not request payments this way, and individuals should not respond or provide any personal or financial information.

JUDGE TONY F. GRAF, JR.

Judge Tony F. Graf, Jr. was appointed to the Fourth District Court in May 2025 by Governor Spencer Cox. Judge Graf serves Juab, Millard, Utah and Wasatch counties. He received his associates degree from Salt Lake Community College, a bachelor’s degree in history and a juris doctorate from the University of Utah, as well as a master’s degree in criminal justice from Weber State University.

Prior to his judicial appointment, Graf previously served as a Deputy County Attorney for Davis County, where he prosecuted physical and sexual abuse cases. He previously led the Special Victims Unit for the Utah County Attorney’s Office and served as a Deputy District Attorney in Salt Lake County. His diverse experience also includes roles as an Assistant Attorney General in American Samoa, Deputy District Attorney in Lincoln County, Nevada, and Special Assistant United States Attorney in Washington, D.C.

A dedicated educator and trainer, Graf has presented at numerous legal and child advocacy conferences and served as faculty for statewide trainings. He volunteered as Judge Pro Tempore for the Salt Lake City Justice Court and serves on the Utah Supreme Court Advisory Committee on the Rules of Evidence.

Graf previously served as a Planner Commissioner for Tooele City, a member of Tooele City Council and as the past president of the Utah Minority Bar Association. (9/25)
