The Utah Judiciary is aware of a scam involving text messages that falsely appear to come from the courts and demand payment through links or QR codes. These messages are not legitimate - courts do not request payments this way, and individuals should not respond or provide any personal or financial information.

PRESIDING JUDGE DON M. TORGERSON

Judge Don Torgerson was appointed to the Seventh District Court in July 2018. He serves Grand, Carbon, Emery, and San Juan counties, and presides over the San Juan County Adult Treatment Court. He also acts as a statewide water judge. Judge Torgerson is currently the Presiding Judge of the Seventh District and Chair of the Board of District Court Judges. He serves on the Board of District Court Judges, the Court's Technology Advisory Subcommittee and AI Legal Subcommittee, the District Court Judicial Weighted Caseload Workgroup, and the Utah State Bar's Family Law Executive Committee.     2/26
