JUDGE RICK T. WESTMORELAND

Judge Rick T. Westmoreland was appointed to the Second District Juvenile Court by Gov. Spencer Cox in June, 2022. He serves Davis, Morgan, and Weber Counties. Judge Westmoreland received his Bachelor of Science in Child and Family Studies from Weber StateUniversity and received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Oklahoma. Prior to his appointment on the bench, Judge Westmoreland worked as a prosecutor for the Davis County Attorney's Office since 2004 where he served in several capacities, including Specialty Court Division Chief, Davis Metro Narcotics Strike Force prosecutor, Drug Court prosecutor, Special Victims prosecutor, as well as in the Juvenile Court and a felony caseload in the District Court. Judge Westmoreland was also a member of the Youth Parole Authority from 2013 until his appointment and served 5 years as Chair. Judge Westmoreland has been an adjunct professorat Weber State University since 2007 teaching in both the Criminal Justice and Master of Nursing programs. Judge Westmoreland was also a member of the United States Army Reserve Judge Advocate General's Corps from 2002 until 2013.
