JUDGE JARED ELDRIDGE

Judge Jared W. Eldridge was appointed to the 4th District Court in May 2017 by Governor Gary R. Herbert. He serves Juab, Millard, Utah and Wasatch Counties. Judge Eldridge received his law degree from Willamette University in Salem, Oregon in 1998. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Brigham Young University Marriot School of Management in 1994. Following law school he began his legal career as a trial attorney for the Salt Lake Legal Defender Association from 1998-2000. He then worked as a trial attorney for the Utah County Public Defender Association from 2000-2002. In November 2002, Judge Eldridge was elected Juab County Attorney where he served for 14 years until being appointed to the bench. During his tenure as county attorney, Judge Eldridge helped establish the Juab County Drug Court in 2003 and a victims` advocacy program in 2004. In 2010 he was recognized for his extensive work with victims` advocacy and was awarded the Outstanding Advocate Recognition Award by the Utah Domestic Violence Council. In 2014 Judge Eldridge was recognized as County Attorney of the Year by his colleagues. In 2017 Judge Eldridge assisted the Juab County Commission and the Indigent Defense Commission with the restructuring of the county public defender system to improve the quality of indigent defense and to ensure Juab County was fulfilling its constitutional responsibility. 6/18
