PRESIDING JUDGE KRAIG POWELL

Judge Kraig Powell was appointed to the Fourth District Court in December 2016 by Governor Gary Herbert. Judge Powell serves Juab, Millard, Utah, and Wasatch counties. He holds M.A., J.D., and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Virginia. He worked as a law clerk at the Texas Court of Appeals and the Illinois Supreme Court. Prior to his judicial appointment, he practiced law in Wasatch and Summit counties, where he was city attorney for both Midway and Francis. He also served as a legislator in the Utah House of Representatives from 2009 through 2016. Judge Powell is past president of the Heber Valley Rotary Club and past chair of the Wasatch Community Foundation. He has taught political science as adjunct faculty at Utah Valley University-Wasatch Campus and has also served as a commissioner on the Utah Judicial Conduct Commission. 4/18
