Xchange Updates

Xchange is updated, streamlined, and expanded. 

Starting October 2026, Xchange is rolling out major updates to improve your access to public court records. All existing functionality will remain available.

These updates will launch in the following stages:

Early October 2026: Unified Document Numbers Across All Court Systems

District and justice court systems now use a single, standardized document numbering system for all users, including judges, attorneys, court staff, and the public.  Only filed documents will have this document numbering.

Why it matters:

  • Seamless referencing: Everyone stays on the same page when referencing filed documents.

Late November 2026: Explore what’s changed in Xchange

Xchange will have a fresh, modern look built to work seamlessly across phones, tablets, and computers.

What’s changed:
  • Familiar, cleaner search: Keep using the same search fields you know, now with a modern layout.
  • Card-style results & quick previews: View key case details at a glance and preview records before opening them.
  • Expanded appellate data: Access deeper information on appellate case events and status updates.
  • Built for accessibility: Designed for all users and abilities, with additional accessibility features rolling out in the future.

Late December 2026: Account Options & Upgrades

Account Options
  • Open Access (Free): Includes 50 free searches and 50 free document downloads each month (renews on the 1st). Purchase pay as you go credits if you need more.
  • Subscription Access (Paid): Built for high volume users. Includes a set monthly allowance for searches and documents, with extra usage billed per item.
Account Setup & Security
  • Existing users: Upon first login complete a guided account transfer. Your credit balance will carry over automatically.
  • New users: Register online to set up an account.
  • Enhanced security: All users will verify account details and set a stronger password upon first login.
Enhanced Search & System Features
  • Advanced search filters: Search cases by status (Active, Inactive, Closed), judge, judicial district, or active attorney. Criminal searches now include specific offenses and dispositions like guilty or dismissed.
  • Case preview: View key details at a glance, including party names, assigned judges, attorneys, next court dates, and case status.
  • Most recent results first: Results now default to the 500 newest matches.
  • Seamless browser navigation: Open links in new tabs, move forward and backward easily, and retain search results throughout your session.
  • Select juvenile court records: Access specific public records, including adult criminal cases handled in juvenile court and protective orders. Juvenile court records are governed by statutes and rules that balance public access with family privacy.
