MATTHEW LORZ
Judge Matthew David Lorz was appointed to the North Logan and Hyde Park Justice Courts in June 2019. Judge Lorz graduated from Utah State University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and a Bachelor of Science degree in Parks and Recreation Management. Following his undergraduate studies, Judge Lorz received a Juris Doctorate from Florida Coastal School of Law in 2010. Judge Lorz also attended and completed his last semester of law school at S.J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah as a visiting student. Following law school, Judge Lorz has been in private practice. He began his career working at a Salt Lake insurance defense firm. Judge Lorz moved back to Cache Valley in 2012 to join the law firm of Peck Hadfield Baxter & Moore, LLC, where he primarily handles personal injury and civil litigation. 9/19
