The Utah Judiciary is aware of a scam involving text messages that falsely appear to come from the courts and demand payment through links or QR codes. These messages are not legitimate - courts do not request payments this way, and individuals should not respond or provide any personal or financial information.

JUDGE DUSTIN ERICSON

Judge Dustin D. Ericson was appointed to the Bench to serve in the Box Elder County Justice Court and the Tremonton Justice Court in September 2025. Judge Ericson is a native of Box Elder County, Utah. In December 2003, Judge Ericson earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Utah State University, majoring in Sociology, with minors in Political Science and Portuguese. Following his graduation from USU, Judge Ericson enrolled in law school at the University of Pacific's McGeorge School of Law. Upon graduating from UOP in May 2007, Judge Ericson immediately took and passed the Utah Bar Exam, and began practicing law in Northern Utah. His law practice focused on municipal representation, civil litigation, business transactions, estate planning, and adoption law.
