The Utah Judiciary is aware of a scam involving text messages that falsely appear to come from the courts and demand payment through links or QR codes. These message are not legitimate - courts do not request payments this way, and individuals should not respond or provide any personal or financial information.

JUDGE AMANDA N. MONTAGUE

Amanda N. Montague was appointed to the Utah Third District Court by Governor Spencer Cox in August 2025. She serves Salt Lake, Summit, and Tooele counties. Prior to her appointment, Judge Montague served as the Division Director for the State Agency Counsel Division in the Utah Attorney General's Office.  She worked at the Utah Attorney General's office for approximately 13 years, representing executive branch agencies, boards and commissions, including the Utah Board of Pardons and Parole, the Utah Department of Corrections, and the Sex, Kidnap, and Child Abuse Registry.  Prior to working at the Attorney General's office, Judge Montague was an attorney/law clerk for Third District Court.  She graduated cum laude from Utah State with a bachelor’s degree in history.  Judge Montague graduated cum laude with a juris doctorate from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University in 2003.  In law school, she was a Dean's Fellow and Managing Editor of Articles for the BYU Journal of Public Law.       9/25
