The Utah Judiciary is aware of a scam involving text messages that falsely appear to come from the courts and demand payment through links or QR codes. These messages are not legitimate - courts do not request payments this way, and individuals should not respond or provide any personal or financial information.

Shelters and Domestic Violence Services

If you believe you are in danger of being abused in your home you may need to move to a Family Violence Emergency Shelter. There are many shelters in Utah that provide emergency accommodation.

There are also organizations that provide counseling, treatment, advocacy and support for domestic violence victims and their children.

If you are in a domestic violence situation and need assistance, call the Statewide Domestic Violence Information line toll-free at 1-800-897-LINK (5465).

A counselor will refer you to free domestic violence resources in your area.
