JUDGE CRAIG M. BUNNELL

Craig M. Bunnell, a native of Carbon County, Utah, was appointed by Governor Gary R. Herbert to serve as a Juvenile Court Judge for the Seventh District in July 2016. He serves the counties of Carbon, Emery, Grand, and San Juan. Judge Bunnell received his Associate Degree from the College of Eastern Utah ('81); Bachelor's and Master's Degrees from Brigham Young University ('84 and '86); and Juris Doctorate Degree from the University of Utah ('89). Prior to his judicial appointment, Judge Bunnell practiced law primarily in the Eighth, Seventh, Third, and Fifth Districts consecutively: the majority of his work with the Utah Office of Guardian ad litem. He served on numerous statewide juvenile court-improvement-related committees or work groups, and, for a time, served as Chair for the Salt Lake County Commission on Youth. In addition to handling child welfare and juvenile justice proceedings in Juvenile Court, Judge Bunnell oversees the child welfare Family Treatment Court for Carbon and Emery Counties. Judge Bunnell has previously served on the Court Improvement Training Steering Committee and currently serves on the Utah Board of Juvenile Court Judges. 09/22
