The Utah Judiciary is aware of a scam involving text messages that falsely appear to come from the courts and demand payment through links or QR codes. These messages are not legitimate - courts do not request payments this way, and individuals should not respond or provide any personal or financial information.

JUDGE RYAN E. CHRISTIANSEN

Judge Ryan E. Christiansen was appointed to the Fifth District Court by Governor Spencer J. Cox in September 2024. He serves Beaver, Iron, and Washington Counties. Prior to his appointment, Judge Christiansen served as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Utah in the Child and Family Support Division, where he was the Southern Section Director. He also served as lead prosecutor on criminal nonsupport cases throughout Southern Utah. Prior to his state service, Judge Christiansen worked as an associate with the St. George firm of Gallian, Westfall, Wilcox, Welker, and Olson. Judge Christiansen earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and history from Manchester College and a law degree from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University.
