Small Claims Mediation Program

This program is available in some, but not all, small claims courts. Check with the court clerk to see whether mediation is available in a particular court. You may also hire a mediator privately. For a list of mediators with contact information and prices, see our webpage on Mediators.

If your case is filed in a participating small claims court, you will be given the opportunity to mediate the case prior to a court hearing. The mediation is conducted at no cost to the parties.

The program utilizes trained volunteer mediators who are available at the time of the court hearings.
