JUDGE ROBERT J. DALE

JUDGE ROBERT J. DALE - Judge Robert J. Dale is an Active Senior Judge. He was appointed to the Second District Court in May 2010 by Governor Gary R. Herbert. He serves Davis, Morgan, and Weber counties. He graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Utah in 1972 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy. He received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Utah in 1976, where he was a member of the law review and graduated Order of the Coif. Judge Dale was in private practice for 34 years, litigating real property, real property title, commercial, contract, construction, banking, and other cases. In addition to all Utah state and federal courts, Judge Dale was admitted to practice before the Sixth, Ninth, and Tenth Circuit Courts of Appeal, and the U.S. Supreme Court. He received an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell. He was a partner in the firm of McKay, Burton, McMurray and Thurman, a founding shareholder and board member of McMurray, McMurray, Dale and Parkinson, P.C., and a shareholder and board member of Fabian & Clendenin, P.C. Judge Dale served on the Layton City Planning Commission, on the Board of Governors of the Utah Trial Lawyers' Association, on the Board of Directors of the Utah Wildlife Federation, and as co-chair of the Utah State Institutional Trust Lands Nominating Committee. He was also a judge pro tem in the Salt Lake Circuit Court, and served on the Utah State Bar Fee Arbitration and Needs of Children Committees.
