Rule 1003. Admissibility of Duplicates


A duplicate is admissibleto the same extent as the original unless a genuine question is raised aboutthe original’s authenticity or the circumstances make it unfair to admit theduplicate.

This rule isthe federal rule, verbatim, and is comparable to Rule 72, Utah Rules ofEvidence (1971), but is broader than Rule 72 and the best evidence provisionsof Rule 70, Utah Rules of Evidence (1971).
