Shared Master Offense Table

This table contains all active state, county and municipal offense codes. The Utah Prosecution Council, Administrative Office of the Courts, Driver License Division and Bureau of Criminal Identification all contribute to the Shared Master Offense Table (SMOT). All state offenses are approved by Utah Prosecution Council staff for statutory appropriateness and to facilitate inclusion in the Prosecution Information Management System (PIMS).

Adding or Updating Local Codes to the Shared Master Offense Table

A county or municipality may request a new or updated offense code here.

If the request includes 5 or more offense codes the request should be sent in a spreadsheet format and emailed to smotrequest@utcourts.gov. Each request must include the offense code violation, description, default severity class, recommended bail amount and if the offense requires a mandatory court appearance.

District and justice courts may also request an offense code be entered here.

If you have comments, suggestions or questions about the bail schedule, please submit them to smotrequest@utcourts.gov.

The Utah State Courts mission is to provide the people an open, fair, efficient, and independent system for the advancement of justice under the law.
