Searching District Court Records at the Courthouse

Finding Legal Help

You are not required to hire an attorney, but legal matters can be complicated. Consider talking to an attorney to go over your options. See the Finding Legal Help page for information about free and low cost ways to get legal help.

Public terminals for searching district court cases are available at most district court locations. Please contact the court directly to verify that you can access district court data via public terminals in that location.

Public terminals are also available at the State Law Library.

District court case records are also available through a web-based subscription service called XChange.

Information on district court cases may also be obtained from a clerk in any district court location.

NOTE: In municipalities where justice courts exist, class B or C misdemeanors, infractions or small claims cases may be filed at the justice court. Please contact the justice court where the case was filed for information about those case types.

The Utah State Courts mission is to provide the people an open, fair, efficient, and independent system for the advancement of justice under the law.
