JUDGE FREDERIC (RIC) M. ODDONE - Judge Frederic (Ric) M. Oddone is an Active Senior Judge. He was appointed to the Third District Juvenile Court in August 1994 by Gov. Michael O. Leavitt and served Salt Lake, Summit, and Tooele counties. Judge Oddone was awarded a law degree from the University of Utah in 1972. Prior to his appointment to the bench, Judge Oddone was a Deputy Salt Lake County Attorney, where he served in the criminal division. Judge Oddone served three terms on the Supreme Court Advisory Committee on Juvenile Court Procedure. He has been a member of the Salt Lake City Mayor's Gang Task Force on Gang Violence, the Judicial Council's Task Force on Juvenile Court Organization, the Judicial Council's Family Court Task Force, and he chaired the Utah State Task Force on Court Security. Judge Oddone served on the Salt Lake Criminal Justice Advisory Council and was the court's representative to the Sentencing Commission. Judge Oddone has also been an instructor for the court's judicial faculty and chaired the Criminal Justice Program Advisory Committee at Salt Lake Community College where he has taught law. He served two terms as the presiding judge for the Third District Juvenile Court and also served on the court's Management Committee. Updated 10/21/21
