Scott Daniels was a District Court Judge from 1982 to 1992, and served as Presiding Judge of the Third Judicial District from 1987 to 1990. Prior to his service on the Bench, he practiced in the areas of commercial and personal injury litigation. He has been in full time Alternative Dispute Resolution practice for over 15 years. He has served as President of the Utah State Bar. He is listed by Utah Business Magazine among "legal elite" for mediation and arbitration. He has mediated over 1200 cases and arbitrated over 400 cases.
