Susie Adams completed mediation training while serving on the board of Utah Dispute Resolution in 2005. In addition to years of volunteer mediation she taught conflict resoluton at Horizonte. Pamela S. Nelson is Office Director for Utah Dispute Resolution, a community oriented center for conflict resolution, which allows her to practice mediation daily. She is the Elementary Conflict Resolution Coordinator for the Utah Law-Related Education Project. She is on the board of directors and is an advisor for Salt Lake Peer Court. Her education and training includes a degree in Mass Communications from the University of Utah and a post graduate certificate from the University of Utah in Alternative Dispute Resolution. She has received additional training in Divorce and Child Custody mediation.

Brandon Nelson received his mediation training with the Conflict Resolution Graduate Certificate Program at the University of Utah. He received over 105 hours of instruction in the art and science of mediation. He received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Puget Sound School of Law in 1983. He has worked with the Sundance Institute for 20+ years and has expertise in the arts and entertainment areas. He also has over 1500 hours of volunteer service at Intermountain Healthcare in patients advocacy. Brandon mediates cases involving contract/business matters, arts and entertainment, landlord/tenant and healthcare issues.

Craig Richard Nelson is a volunteer mediator for Utah Dispute Resolution, working primarily in the Small Claims Courts of Matheson, West Valley City, and West Jordan. He was trained at UDR in 2004 and since then has mediated hundreds of cases for the online dispute resolution service Square Trade. These cases were for disputants involved in a transaction on eBay. Since eBay changed their policy regarding feedback disputes, he has devoted his time to pro bono mediation.

Jo Lynn Nelson received training through the U of U's Conflict Resolution Program. She is an Associate Real Estate Broker and she is the Chairperson of The Grievance Committee for Salt Lake Board of Realtors. She is qualified to mediate real estate disputes, landlord/tenant, neighborhood disputes and small claims. Jo Lynn understands that mediation is a positive and extremely effective way to settle disputes and she believes allowing the participants the opportunity to be a part of the decision is extremely beneficial and very helpful in resolving any dispute. She brings compassion, neutrality, experience and tenaciousness to the process.

Jennifer Northcott received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Political Science from Brigham Young University (BYU) in 2002. She then attended the J Reuben Clark Law School at BYU where she received her Juris Doctor in 2005. She is licensed to practice law in both Colorado and Utah. Jennifer received her basic and domestic mediation training from the Schooley Mediation Center at BYU and has mediated cases in and for small claims court, the BYU Center for Conflict Resolution, Juvenile Offender Court Programs and School Truancy Programs.

Melissa O'Brien practiced law for eight years, specializing in administrative litigation. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and her law degree from Washington and Lee University. She is a member of the District of Columbia, Maryland, Georgia and Utah State Bars. She received her mediation training at Utah Dispute Resolution. During her law practice, Ms. O'Brien served as counsel on a wide range of complex commercial disputes. She also handled company formations and dissolutions for a large utility. Ms. O'Brien has a Park City office with conference room facilities or will travel for mediation.

Tracy L. Olson is an attorney and mediator. He is admitted to practice law in New York and Utah. He graduated cum laude with a law degree from Syracuse University. In his undergraduate studies at Weber State University, he double majored in psychology and criminal justice. Tracy received both the basic and domestic mediation training from Utah Dispute Resolution and serves as a volunteer mediator with the Law and Motion program.

Russ is a Staff Mediator and Case Manager at Utah Dispute Resolution. UDR is a non-profit, community based organization providing mediation services for the people of Utah. Russ is also the Mediation Coordinator for the Small Claims Court Mediation Program in the Third District. Russ holds a BS in Anthropology from the University of Utah and has completed the Postgraduate ADR Certificate Program, U of U, 1995. He has specialized mediation training in employment, divorce, personal injury, labor, consumer/merchant, victim/offender, landlord/tenant, medical and civil rights disputes. Tina currently works for Life Touch Mediation Services in Salt Lake County, has received her Alternative Dispute Resolution License from the Department of Public Licensing for the state of Utah and is a Master Mediator and Mentor on the ADR Court Roster. She obtained her Mediation Certifications through the BYU Law School. Tina has both a Psychology and Criminal Justice Degree. Memberships include: ACR, UCCR, UDR and Utah State Bar for Non-Attorney Mediators. Tina has volunteered for the juvenile court mediation program through the Schooley Mediation Center at BYU and has mediated small claims court cases through the Utah Dispute Resolution Program.

Jeffrey Owens is a licensed attorney and qualified mediator for the State of Utah. He holds a JD from Thomas M. Cooley Law School, an MA in Organizational Management, and a BA in Psychology from the University of Utah. He received his mediation training from the Conflict Resolution and Negotiation program at the University of Utah. He has received additional training in Domestic Mediation and Workplace Mediation. Jeff has served as a mediator for Utah Dispute Resolution and the Dispute Resolution Center for Central Michigan. John Pace received formal training in mediation in 1990 and divorce mediation training in 2003. He is a master mediator and trainer and a court-qualified mediator since 2003. He has mediated numerous landlord-tenant and business disputes and some divorce mediation. John directs the Center for Conflict Resolution at BYU, administering mediation and arbitration programs for disputes at the university since 1981. I hold a BS degree in Psychology from the University of Utah and have received a post graduate certificate from the University of Utah in Alternative Conflict Resolution. My employment background includes corporate, financial, real estate and human resource experience. I have successfully mediated consumer, landlord/tenant, property, and real estate disputes.

Ms. Parker's mediations focus on understanding the needs of each individual client, providing patience, trust, mutual respect, and a safe environment for the expression of facilitative communication. Ms. Parker completed mediation training at Pepperdine Law School's Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution, ranked #1 in ADR programs by US News and World Report. Ms. Parker's background includes pharmaceutical, hospital, elder care and insurance expertise. In addition, Ms. Parker has created and successfully ran small retail and wholesale businesses. All of these experiences bring a rich background of understanding of how to achieve consensus in situations with competing interests.

Judge Payne retired as a District Court Judge after more than 22 years on the bench. He served as a Presiding Judge, was twice elected to be the Chair of the Board of District Court Judges, was selected as a Judge of the Year, served as the Supervising Judge for the Grand Jury Panel of District Court Judges, and is currently serving on the Constitutional Legislative Ethics Committee. He has worked as a mediator since his retirement in 2010. Judge Payne has extensive experience in civil, domestic, and probate matters.

Allan is a Master Mediator who specializes in domestic divorce and parenting issues disputes. He has mediated hundreds of cases since 1998 and is on the Utah State Court-Annexed ADR Program roster with extensive experience in the Co-Parenting Mediation Program in the Third District Court. He is a Utah State sanctioned Domestic Mediation Mentor and provides mentoring services exclusively through the comprehensive Utah Dispute Resolution Domestic Mentorship Program. A native of Utah, he holds a BS degree in Management from the University of Utah.

David Pedrazas has been practicing law for over 14 years. He graduated from the University of Utah Law School in 1997. Since becoming a member of Utah Bar in 1998, David has handled 100's of cases. He has argued cases before the District Courts throughout Utah, the Utah Court of Appeals and the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. He moved from Florida after graduating from the University of Florida to attend University of Utah School of Law in 1994. In his free time, he enjoys officiating high school football, snowboarding, hiking or just about anything that gets him outside.

Jennie is the Program Coordinator for the Landlord Tenant Mediation Program at the Salt Lake Community Action Program. The Salt Lake Community Action Program is a non-profit community based organization. Jennie obtained a Bachelor's of Science degree in Sociology and Criminology from the University of Utah. Jennie specializes in immediate occupancy mediations, and landlord/tenant issues.

Pam Peterson is a court qualified domestic mediator who does many pro se (without attorneys) cases. Ms. Peterson believes in the possibility of people to solve conflicts in productive and respectful ways, and in the ability of people to learn new skills to decrease the conflict that can be so harmful to children in a divorce. With a degree in Psychology from BYU, a Master's in Communication from Pittsburg State University (Kansas) and over 15 years teaching experience at college and university level, she has the ability to help people look to the future.

Janet Peterson has been mediating since 1999. She received her formal training in mediation at BYU, J Reuben Clark Law School while completing her law degree. Ms. Peterson was a law clerk for the honorable Judge Steven L. Hansen at the Fourth District Court and has worked for the Guardian ad Litem's Office in Provo. In addition, she has practiced family law since 2002 and teaches at BYU, J Reuben Clark Law School. Ms. Peterson specializes in divorce and family disputes and has mediated other types of disputes, including landlord/tenant, contract, employer/employee and small claims.

Susan Petty is Director of Training for Utah Dispute Resolution, a community mediation service. She mediates and teaches conflict resolution skills on a daily basis. She is a volunteer mediator for the Juvenile Court Mediation Program and is also a mediator for the Visitation Program. She has experience mediating a variety of disputes including neighborhood, visitation, custody, and divorce issues. John E. Schindler has practiced law continually since graduating from law school in 1976. Mr. Schindler maintained an office as a sole practitioner since his admission to the Utah state Bar in 1982 until closing that office in December, 1999. Donna M. Seager received her Bachelor's Degree in Education from Utah State University and her Master's Degree in Counseling and Foundations from University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Prior to taking the mediation training, she worked as an educator for 41 years spending the last 30 years as a school counselor. In this venue, she served both youth and adults in several capacities working both for public school districts and as a college-level counselor. Being a Licensed Clinical Counselor in New Mexico for LDS Family Services and working with many public agencies and business has added to her experience as a mediator.

Michael has practiced in the litigation department of Jones Waldo's St. George office since graduating from law school in 1987. Training includes: Mediation Advocacy Training 1995, Guardian ad Litem Training 2005, Mediation and Domestic Mediation training through Utah Dispute Resolution in 2011. Jill Sheinberg is an attorney (admitted in New York) who specializes in mediation in Utah. She received her basic mediation training in New York City where she worked for five years as a community mediator to resolve disputes between family members, neighbors, employees, and landlord/tenants. She has completed the Utah Court-Annexed ADR Program and a Business Mediation course at the Cape Cod Institute. Ms. Sheinberg has trained teachers, law students, community-based organization staff and community residents in conflict resolution and communication skills. E. Gary Smith, 30-year trial veteran (Utah and California), has extensive mediation experience and training, including Utah Basic Mediation, Utah Domestic Mediation ("UDR?), UDR Mentorship, and California Dispute Resolution programs, and mediation ethics and pleadings courses. After getting an inside look at the traditional practice of divorce, she decided to focus her legal practice on mediation and trained at Innovative Solutions Training. Virginia Sokolowsky is a mediator with experience in Small Claims, Parent/Teen, Family, Custody/Parent-time and Landlord/Tenant mediation. She has a degree in English from BYU and is currently working on a Behavioral Science/Psychology degree at UVU, with emphasis in Alternative Dispute Resolution. Meggan McLean Stein has been mediating disputes in Utah and Washington since 1998. At Utah Dispute Resolution, Meggan coordinated a Peer Mediation Program in collaboration with Horizonte Learning and Training Center. Michele Straube has focused exclusively on mediation and facilitating shared decision-making for the past ten years. She has developed and taught numerous mediation, negotiation skills, and conflict prevention courses, in addition to teaching about dispute resolution as an adjunct at the University of Utah S. J. Quinney College of Law. She has extensive mediation training and experience in a variety of areas, including adult guardianship, workplace disputes, environmental and public policy issues. She also mediates EEOC cases for the US Postal Service, and has conducted volunteer mediations on a variety of topics through Utah Dispute Resolution.

Ms. Swallow began mediating in 1999 after receiving her Bachelor's Degree from BYU in Human Development in 1997 and her formal training in mediation at BYU's J Reuben Clark Law School while completing her Law Degree. Additionally, she studied mediation at the renowned Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine University. Ms. Swallow worked as a litigator in Phoenix and later moved back to Utah County specializing in estate planning, contracts, business and family/adoption law. Ms. Swallow has a broad range of experience mediating other types of disputes, including landlord/tenant, victim offender and small claims disputes.

Rebecca's practice focuses on domestic, community and housing mediation. Rebecca has five years experience as a family law paralegal. She enjoys working with families and helping parents find healthy resolutions in custody matters. Rebecca Symes is a graduate of the University of Utah, where she earned a BS in Sociology and a BS in Human Development and Family Studies. Currently, Rebecca is working on her Master's degree. Rebecca received her mediation training at Utah Dispute Resolution and works with UDR's SLC Court mediation program as well as Salt Lake CAP's Landlord/Tenant mediation program. Allen Thomason is a Mediator and Arbitrator. Allen's primary focus is on solving problems amicably and fairly. He is experienced in domestic, commercial, construction, employment, juvenile, labor, medical malpractice, personal injury, real property and taxation. His professional background includes over 30 years combined experience in accounting, taxation, business, law (including family), and conflict resolution. He holds degrees in accounting, business administration and law. In addition, he was a certified public accountant. Allen has served by appointment of the Utah Supreme Court as a Small Claims Judge, and has been listed as one of the top mediators by Utah Business Magazine.

I am a resident of Utah County and an avid breeder of Arabian horses. I have a BS degree in Bio-Ag from Brigham Young University as well as training in Organizational Behavior and Real Estate. I am a trained mediator with vast experience in mediation especially in mediating landlord tenant and roommate disputes. I have been a landlord arbitrator for the BYU Center for Conflict Resolution and am currently Office Manager in the Center. I also volunteer my services as the Hearing Officer for the Housing Authority of Utah County.

Cari Thomsen received advanced mediation training at UVU in conjunction with Paralegal studies and postgraduate domestic certification through Utah Dispute Resolution. She is a member of the UCCR. Cari has conducted numerous parent/teen and small claims mediations. She has extensive experience with Utah divorce laws and parenting issues. Cari believes that mediation generally provides more balance and less ongoing conflict to the parties than the court system provides, especially when children are involved. Her goal is to help provide knowledge, preventive measures, achieve agreeable solutions, and establish a system for problem-solving should conflict arise between the parties in the future.

Natalie has 10 years experience mediating issues including Divorce, Custody, Education, Evictions, Contract, Civil, Real Estate, Workplace, Medical, Elder Care. She was the Divorce Mediation Program Coordinator for the Utah Courts. She has a financial background with the IRS for 26 years, negotiated with labor unions, and is a real estate agent. Natalie teaches mediation, mentors new mediators, and specializes in custody evaluation mediations. Natalie has a heightened awareness for cases with domestic violence. She is on the Board of Directors of the Utah Council on Conflict Resolution and a member of the Dispute Resolution Section of the Utah Bar.

Robert S. (Rust) Tippett is a trust & estate attorney at Bennett Tueller Johnson & Deere in Salt Lake City. His practice focuses on estate planning, trust administration, estate and gift taxation, probate and conservatorships. He holds a BA from Yale University and a JD from the University of Michigan. Mr. Tippett teaches the Wills & Estate course as an Adjunct Professor at BYU Law School, and is the author of "The Utah Law of Trusts & Estates," an online legal reference treatise available at www.utahestateplanning.org. Lynette is a versatile, motivated and people-oriented professional combining extensive training and business management with solid academic credentials and volunteer experience. She received her BA of Science in Psychology from Eastern Illinois University and has traveled extensively around the world. After 12 years as a professional in the education community, Lynette received her mediation training from Utah Dispute Resolution. Currently she serves as Training Coordinator for UDR. Lynette is qualified to conduct mediations in education, commercial, community, employment and landlord/tenant disputes.

Orson B. West is an experienced family law attorney and a member of the Collaborative Family Lawyers of Utah. He is a partner in the law firm of Carver & West, LLC and has practiced family law in Utah since 1983. He received his Bachelor of Science's degree from the University of Utah in 1975. After serving three years in the United States Marine Corps he attended law school at the University of Nebraska, graduating in 1982. Mary Jane Whisenant is an attorney with a private practice focusing on family law, and is a member of the Collaborative Family Lawyers of Utah. She is a mediator in the Court's Co-parenting Mediation Program, and is experienced in mediating in the areas of divorce, custody and co-parenting, victim/offender, and issues under the Americans with Disabilities Act. She received her undergraduate and J.D. degrees from B.Y.U., with additional training in mediation from Pepperdine University and the Key Bridge Foundation in New York.

Cas Melanson White specializes in mediating domestic cases, including divorce, custody, and parentage cases. Cas has been an attorney practicing in the area of Family Law for the past six years, and is now offering mediation services in San Juan, Grand and Carbon counties. In 2011, Cas was certified as a Child Welfare Law Specialist. Cas is a Utah native who attended law school at the University of Utah, and she now lives and operates her business in Moab, Utah.

Henry O. Whiteside, Ph.D. is the Managing Partner of LutraGroup SP, the authorized provider of Group Leader Training for the Strengthening Families Program as well as trainings in board roles and development. He received his education at Princeton University and Stanford University. In 2001 he completed the Conflict Resolution Certificate Program at the University of Utah. He has mediated small claims and appeals in 3rd District Court, Salt Lake County, and welcomes mediations in consumer-merchant, landlord-tenant, neighborhood disputes, education, and civil rights. He has served on and chaired the boards of non-profit organizations.

Terrence Wills is the owner of Lakeside Mediation. He graduated in 2011 with an Associate Degree in Paralegal Studies and completed the basic mediation training in 2010. Having practical experience with landlord/tenant, personal property, debt, business, animal and other small claims areas, he completed the domestic training and is expanding into domestic and family mediation.

Wesley received his mediation training at BYU law. He specializes in commercial mediation. With an undergraduate in business from BYU, and being an entrepreneur himself, he is uniquely qualified to relate to business owners. He offers services in Spanish, Portuguese, and English. Wesley has also taken tax and estate planning courses. He is comfortable and qualified for probate mediation as well.

Shelley Wismer is a lawyer and a mediator whose practice focuses on real estate transactions and real estate industry practices, drawing on her past experience as the Utah Division of Real Estate's director of investigations of complaints filed against real estate brokers, appraisers, and mortgage brokers. She applies the knowledge that she gained through analyzing thousands of problem real estate transactions and the evidence gathered investigating those transactions. She also brings to her mediation practice experience as an Assistant Attorney General representing the Utah Division of Real Estate and prosecuting its cases involving the conduct of licensed real estate professionals.

M'Leah Woodard is interested in issues of disability, environment and culture. She received her Basic Mediation training from Utah Dispute Resolution in June 2009. M'Leah is currently a law student at the University of Utah. She is also a nationally certified sign language interpreter and is able to mediate directly in ASL. Much of M'Leah's experience has been in the Small Claims Court setting with issues involving contracts, employment, landlord/tenant and construction. Loreta Woodward is an active mediator for family and divorce situations; probate/estates, workplace employment labor disputes; contract business disputes; small claims; race/sex discrimination; domestic violence; landlord/tenant; and truancy. Education: Bachelor of Science Degree with an emphasis in Psychology and a Master Degree in Business Administration. She has a professional designation in contract negotiation management and is certified as an acquisition contract professional. She has a high success rate using 30 years of negotiation strategy to develop mutually beneficial agreements based on the interests of the disputants, by actively understanding the requests, concerns, and fears important to each side.

Angilee Wright is currently a practicing attorney in Family Law, Intellectual Property Law (patents, copyrights, trademarks), and Tribal Law. Angilee actively mediates small claims matters as well as domestic matters. Angilee attended the University of California, Santa Cruz for her undergraduate studies. She also attended the University of Western Australia, where she worked with the Aborigines and studied law. Angilee earner her J.D. while living in Michigan. She is an active volunteer in the Salt Lake community, logging several hours of pro bono work each week. As a mediator, Angilee offers a flexible schedule, including weekend or evening meetings.

Dan Wright is a highly versatile people-oriented professional with strong business, municipal government, human services and volunteer experience. He received his mediation training from Utah Dispute Resolution and holds Master's degrees in Business Administration and Public Administration. Dan's bachelor's degrees are in Psychology, Sociology and Behavioral Sciences. His educational and work background allows him to effectively mediate a wide range of high conflict situations, marriage, family, co-parent, business, government, workplace, contractors, neighborhood, landlord/tenant and organizational disputes. As a mediator Dan offers flexible schedule to accommodate weekends and evening appointments.

DeAnn Wright has experience in Small Claims, Landlord/Tenant, Family, Paternity, Custody/Parent-time and Divorce mediation. She received her training in basic and domestic mediation at Innovative Training Solutions. She was mentored in domestic mediation by Tamara Fackrell. She received a bachelor's degree from BYU and is currently working on a JD/MPA degree.
