He completed his training for Basic Mediation and Landlord/Tenant through UDR, Divorce/Family mediation in Boca Raton, Florida, for a total of 83 hours. Education includes a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, with an emphasis in Corrections; an AAS in Paralegal Studies; an AS in General Sociology. Gretchen Lowe has a long standing history of mediation. Gretchen prefers to travel for mediations to ease the comfort of the parties involved. She has been involved in several areas of mediation and has found her main area of expertise to be in domestic issues (child custody) and divorce situations. Gretchen has a Paralegal Degree and feels this helps her mediation goals in keeping current with Utah Family Law. Kent Anderson brings experience as both a lawyer and a psychotherapist to his mediation practice. After graduating from Georgetown Law School (1978), he practiced law at Jones, Waldo. He then worked for 14 years at a major corporation including as General Counsel and Exec VP-Real Estate & Development. Kent received his Masters of Social Work from the University of Utah (2001), and received basic and domestic mediation training at UDR. In addition to his mediation practice, Kent is an LCSW, providing individual, marriage, and family counseling. His background allows him to effectively mediate a wide range of family, commercial, and workplace disputes.

Mr. Askew is an attorney (1988 BYU Law School) with an accounting degree (1985 BYU). Experience includes large law firm, in-house counsel, and business owner. Substantive knowledge in many areas including employment matters, small business disputes, family issues, credit/debtor, complex transactions, contracts, business/property valuation, property damage and personal injury. Mediation trained since 2003. Mr. Askew is a volunteer mediator in small claims court. He has passed the bar exam in four states. His broad range of experience makes him ideal for mediating practical solutions to nearly any kind of dispute.

Deb Badger has practiced family law for more than 20 years and has mediated since 1998. She also regularly represents children in family disputes as a court-appointed guardian ad litem. She is a member of Collaborative Family Lawyers of Utah, an organization that takes a mediation-type approach to divorce law. In addition to family law cases, she has mediated landlord/tenant, probate and contract disputes. She served as Judge Pro Tem deciding small claims cases for more than 15 years--giving her the opportuity to practice neutrality.

Vivia Baldwin is a master mediator with extensive workplace mediation experience. A graduate of the University of Utah, Magna cum laude, she has been mediating in Utah since 1994. Currently Ms. Baldwin is on the mediation roster of the United States Postal Service REDRESS, the Utah State Anti-Discrimination and Labor Division, the Administrative Office of the Courts Restorative Justice Program and the Third District Court Co-Parent Mediation Program. Ms. Baldwin's expertise is in facilitative and transformative mediation. She is available as a mentor/coach for participants in a mediation conference.

Joyce Barnes is a qualified master mediator with expertise in education, special education, divorce, child custody, parent time, children and adults with disabilities, youth in custody and multicultural issues. Her mediation practice has expanded since 1993 into public and private schools and higher education. Weekend and evening meetings can be arranged. Joyce is a court adjudicated mediator and volunteers with the Third District Juvenile Court in Restorative Justice.

Daniel B. Bass was a trial lawyer and mediator in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He has been a practicing attorney since 1968 and a full-time mediator since 1993. He has mediated over 4,000 cases and has extensive experience in the areas of family law, contract disputes, landlord-tenant, commercial and personal injury matters. He is qualified by the Florida Supreme Court in both Family and Civil disputes. Dan is a former member of the Florida Legislature. He has a JD degree from the University of Florida and has lectured on mediation topics. Dan is a Master Mediator in Utah.

Dr. Beck is a native of central Utah and grew up on a sugar beet and cattle farm. He now lives in Smithfield, Utah. He received degrees from Brigham Young University and served on the faculty and also on the faculty of Arizona State University. He received a doctorate from the University of Montana. He is a member of various professional organizations (AMCAP and the Utah Bar Association, etc.). Dr. Beck and his wife, Marilyn Call, are the parents of ten children. He was a teacher and family counselor in Oregon before moving to Utah in 1999.

Judge Billings was a general jurisdiction trial judge for five years in Third District Court and had all her cases go to a "settlement conference" with her. Judge Billings completed a Dispute Resolution Course at the National Judicial College; completed Basic Mediation Training at Utah State Courts; completed American Arbitration Training and is currently on the AAA Roster as a mediator and arbitrator. She has arbitrated a multi-million dollar case, mediated three cases to a successful conclusion and has several ongoing mediation cases since her retirement.

Mary Bishop is certified in Advanced Mediation Practices, completing her training at Ira C. Eaker College for Professional Development. She also completed the Utah Dispute Resolution training for Domestic, Small Claims, and Victim Offender mediation. She has mediated over 100 disputes and performed over 800 case assessments. Her expertise includes 15 years as a labor/management negotiator and workplace dispute resolution specialist. Mary currently manages a dispute resolution program for a large organization, where she also provides training in conflict management strategies and mediator continuing education. She accepts cases for employment/labor and civil rights, domestic/divorce, landlord/tenant, small claims, truancy and victim offender.

Michael Blair is a Licensed Marriage and Family Counselor in private general practice in Central Utah with over 15 years experience and a variety of specialties such as mediation, reunification, mental health assessments, pornography, alcohol and drugs, managing teenagers, depression, anxiety, pain management, rehabilitation and related work issues, physical and sexual abuse issues, and divorce-busting. Judge Bohling is a full-time professional mediator. He mediates a broad range of commercial and domestic disputes. His practice emphasizes high conflict, multiparty, and complex matters. Judge Bohling was named the Utah State Bar's 1993 distinguished Lawyer of the Year, its 2004 Judge of the Year, and was awarded the UCCR's 2005 Peacekeeper Award. His demonstrated skills and success have led to his receiving a Martindale-Hubbell AV rating and his being named to the peer-reviewed Best Lawyers in America( 2008 edition), Mountain States 2008 Super Lawyers, and the Utah Business Magazine's 2007 and 2008 Utah Legal Elite.

I have been a professional businessman since June 1989 and a professional mediator with the NAR (National Association of Realtors) since 2004. In 2005 and 2006 respectively I completed my court required training as a General Mediator, Domestic Mediation and Domestic Law with Utah Dispute Resolution in Salt Lake City. This training enables me to better serve as mediator for the state of Utah. Having dealt with government and quasi-governmental agencies for the past 20 years on a daily basis uniquely qualifies me to serve as your mediator and/or arbitrator(arbitrator for FINRA, not on Utah court roster).

Mr. Bracken graduated from BYU with a BA in English and obtained his law degree from the University of Utah, where he received his mediation training and served as the Managing Editor of the Journal of Law and Family Studies. Susan C. Bradford is a master mediator with Bradford Mediation. She graduated from the University of Utah College of Law, and completed Divorce and Child Custody mediation training with CDR Associates in Colorado. She was an Administrative Law Judge, a guardian ad litem, an adjunct clinical professor of law at the U of U, a Domestic Court Commissioner in the Third District, and a partner with a law firm. She has mediated hundreds of cases. Ms. Bradford offers mediation services for complex domestic matters, contracts, and general litigation.

Susan Bradshaw is a master mediator and primary trainer. She teaches mediation at the J Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University. She has acted as the Director of the Schooley Mediation Center at BYU, the Coordinator of Alternative Dispute Resolution for the state of Utah and as Director of Utah Dispute Resolution. In these capacities, she has conducted mediation and mediation training for the past ten years. Her education includes a master's degree from Pepperdine University in conflict resolution and a law degree from BYU. She has mediated weekly for the past ten years with her students in small claims court and enjoys a private practice in domestic mediation.

Kraig E. Brinkerhoff is a Mediator in the Salt Lake and Provo areas. He has a background in vocational rehab counseling and is an academic advisor at BYU. He has actively been involved as a mediator since 2004. He has mediated parent-teen truancy mediations, small claims mediations, including consumer, employment and contract disputes, divorce mediation, landlord/tenant, and victim offender mediation for the 4th district juvenile court. Evie Brinkerhoff graduated with a JD from the J Reuben Clark Law School at BYU in 2007. She was trained as a basic and domestic mediator while at law school and continues to mediate a wide range of cases including: family, divorce, small claims, landlord/tenant, and other civil matters. Currently, she mediates both privately and with Utah Dispute Resolution's Family and Community mediation programs.

Elaine Brown has a BA in Secondary Education and History and an MPA (Master's in Public Administration) with a Human Resources emphasis. She has worked in the public sector including the State of Utah, the University of Utah, and Salt Lake Community College, for almost twenty years. Her areas of expertise include education, employment, labor, and harassment and discrimination issues, but she also has personal experience in the areas of juvenile justice and elder care. Her mediation experience has been in small claims court and law and motion hearings.

Benjamin E. Brown, JD/MBA, is an attorney mediator and partner with Moody Brown & Brown, LLC. He graduated from Brigham Young University, J Reuben Clark Law School with a degree in law, as well as the Marriott School of Management with a master's degree in business administration. Marilyn Moody Brown graduated from Brigham Young University with degrees in English and Communications and earned her juris doctorate at Willamette University. She was admitted to the Utah State Bar in 1986, and served as the president of the Central Utah Bar Association in 2003-2004. She has also been a member of the following: Utah State Bar Executive Family Law Committee, American Academy of Adoption Attorneys, Utah County Career Service Council, and Utah Trial Lawyers. She has participated in litigation, negotiation, and mediation of over 2,000 cases involving family law.

Ms. Brown is a 2002 graduate of J. Reuben Clark Law School, where she received her basic and advanced mediation training and pursued other alternative dispute resolution courses. Her practice consists of commercial litigation, with experience in complex commercial contracts, real estate, bankruptcy, construction, landlord/tenant, property, municipal, and employment matters. Ms. Brown regularly mediates domestic cases as a volunteer mediator with Utah Dispute Resolution.

Sandra Brundage is a career civil servant for 23 years working as a program manager and Air Force Mediator at Hill Air Force Base, Utah. Sandra is a pathfinder who facilitates and gels teams by example with stellar skills in mediation and conflict resolution. She volunteer mediated in small claims at Salt Lake City's Third District Court, mediated labor disputes and facilitated lean principles in the federal government. She is a compassionate businesswoman gifted with proven analytical and organizational ability in financial management, contracting, logistics, hospital administration, labor, and community relations. Sandra owns an accounting and bookkeeping home business. Sandra has an MBA from Florida Metropolitan University in Tampa, Florida. She has a bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy and worked as a Recreation Specialist for ten years at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in St. Petersburg, Florida. Sandra completed University of Utah's prestigious Conflict Resolution Certificate Program in 1999.

Linda received her Juris Doctorate from IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law. She is an active member of the Oregon State Bar. Linda completed Basic Mediation Training through Innovative Training Solutions, and her Domestic Mediation Training with Utah Dispute Resolution. She is a member of Mountain Mediation, a non-profit based in Park City, and has been mediating cases for the Third District Court in Summit County. Linda has taught yoga for eight years and believes mediation can be a transformative and peaceful process.

Shannan Busby is a mediator practicing in Salt Lake and Utah Counties. She has a BA in Communication. She received her Basic Mediation Training and Domestic Training from Innovative Training Solutions. She specializes in family disputes and divorce mediation. She brings perseverance, kindness, experience, and creativity to her role as a mediator. Carolynn Clark Camp has been mediating since 2001. She received her formal training in mediation at the J Reuben Clark Law School at BYU University while completing her law degree. Ms. Camp has since completed a Master of Laws in mediation at Pepperdine University. Ms. Camp has worked as a litigator at Ray Quinney & Nebeker in Salt Lake City and currently teaches at the BYU law school in addition to mediating. Ms. Camp specializes in divorce and family disputes and has mediated other types of disputes, including landlord/tenant, victim-offender, commercial disputes and all types of small claims disputes. Susan S. Campbell, PhD, MFT has been a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist since 1996 and a trained Mediator since 1999. Susan belongs to the Cache County Restorative Dialogue Committee and Cache County Collaborative Law group. She has mediated 41 cases totaling over 160 hours. These include domestic divorce/visitation, juvenile victim offender, small claims court and truancy cases. Susan has handled some interstate cases combining phone conferencing and office mediation to resolve issues. Sarah Campbell is an attorney at Clyde Snow & Sessions. She earned her BA in communications from BYU and her JD from the J Reuben Clark Law School, where she currently assists part-time as a reviewer for an interviewing and counseling class. Charles Carlston is a member of both the California and Utah Bars. He has personal experience with both custodial and non-custodial single parenting. After personally experiencing two revolutions in Brazil, his own divorce, his subsequent wife's death from cancer, and nearly six years of San Francisco Area domestic law practice, he learned he had not yet seen everything until he moved his practice to Utah County over ten years ago. Terry L. Cathcart is an attorney and mediator in the Bountiful/Davis County law firm of Cathcart & Peterson, LLC. He has been an attorney for 20 years after his graduation from the Utah College of Law (S.J. Von J. Christiansen is an attorney and mediator, with experience mediating over 400 disputes since 1993. He has a J.D. degree from Brigham Young University, and a M.A. degree from the David M. Mr. Clegg has extensive complex business transaction, intellectual property, and commercial experience. Mr. Clegg has practiced law for nearly a decade. His practice has included complex business transactions while working in the Washington, DC offices of Arnold & Porter, patent litigation in the New York office of Fish & Neave, and IP transactions and management as Associate General Counsel for a Boulder, CO based pharmaceutical company. His extensive experience includes patent, trademark, and copyright transactions and litigation. Sue Click has a practice in family mediation. Sue works with clients seeking marriage mediation, blended family issues, divorced co-parents, elder care, estate issues, parent/child mediations and family group conferencing. Amanda Cowart graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor's Degree in Communication with a focus on Conflict Management. She received over 100 hours mediation training from the University of Utah Conflict Certification Program. She has also trained with Utah Dispute Resolution in their domestic program. She works as a paralegal and is a skilled agreement writer. Areas of expertise: small claims, truancy, HOA and neighborhood issues, contract work and landlord/ tenant issues.

Martin W. Custen is a family law practitioner and mediator in Ogden, Utah, with more than 30 years of experience in the practice of law. Since 1998, he has mediated more than 100 family law type cases, covering issues including divorce, custody, property division, grandparental visitation rights and related matters. He has a J.D. degree from St. Louis University School of Law.

Elizabeth Dalton is a family mediator, divorce coach, and special master with 18 years experience. She has mediated over 1200 family disputes. She received her law degree from the University of Utah in 1987. She received her divorce mediation training from CDR Associates in Colorado and her special master training from AFCC. In 1994, she co-authored the book Healing Hearts: Helping Adults and Children Recover from Divorce. Her mediation firm specializes in transformative mediation and provides marriage, family, and kids coaching services.

Tim Daniels is the owner of Tim Daniels and Associates which specializes in setting a collaborative tone to create understanding and direction for parties involved in contested domestic issues. Last year he conducted approximately 200 domestic conferences for Second District Court. Over the past six years Tim has worked full time in many aspects of mediation including training mediators and coordinating the victim/offender mediation program for Third District Juvenile Court. Tim was a staff mediator for Utah Dispute Resolution and is currently the co-chairman of the educational committee for the UCCR family mediators section.

I am a BYU law student. I have been involved in many mediations at the BYU Center for Conflict and Resolution. Most of these matters dealt with landlord/tenant issues. I have also been involved in the mediation class at BYU Law School where students, including me, participated as mediators regarding many issues such as business, contracts, landlord/tenants, family matters, etc. I have gone to the 4th District Courts in Utah County, as part of my mediation class and mediated in Small Claims Courts. Colleen Doherty holds a Postgraduate Certification in Conflict Resolution and has experience mediating disputes for the Third District Court, State of Utah. She possesses articulate ability to conduct productive mediation sessions, besides having practical practice with landlord/tenant, eviction, debt collection, personal property, truancy, small claims, and is just commencing into domestic/family, and workplace disputes. Bill Downes is an experienced mediator and collaborative attorney. Since 1990, Bill has maintained an active mediation practice, mediating over 3,000 cases. Bill regularly mediates divorce and family conflicts, probate disputes, personal injury claims and employment cases. Since 1994, Bill has trained mediators in basic mediation skills and family mediation skills. In 2000, Bill was awarded the Peter W. Billings, Sr. Outstanding Dispute Resolution Service Award by the American Arbitration Association. Bill is listed in BEST LAWYERS IN AMERICA for the specialty of Family Law Mediation.

Christina J. Durham is in private practice as a clinical and forensic psychologist in the St. George area. She earned a Ph.D. from Brigham Young University in Clinical Psychology (1998) and has taught as adjunct faculty at Brigham Young University (Provo and Hawaii campuses) and Utah Valley State College. Her work has included issues such as child custody, visitation and co- parenting.

Tracy earned her M.A. in Counseling Psychology in 1999. She has spent the last eight years counseling with couples and families in varying contexts. She brings a lot of experience to the mediation process as it pertains to understanding and managing family dynamics.

Received Juris Doctorate from J Reuben Clark Law School, April 1999. Admitted to the Utah State Bar in October of 1999. Completed mediation training during law school, including Utah Dispute Resolution's basic mediation course, as well as courses offered by the law school in alternative dispute resolution and domestic relations mediation. Gained initial mediation experience by performing mediations in small claims court, then observed and performed domestic relations mediations in connection with the Domestic Relations Mediation Course. Mr. Elegante, certified by the American Arbitration Association, is an experienced litigator and business lawyer with a strong entrepreneurial orientation and a deep background in industrial technologies, manufacturing, and the extractive industries. Experienced in negotiating and documenting joint ventures, technology arrangements, and commercial agreements (buy-sell, manufacturing, and distribution), Mr. Elegante also has a vast knowledge of work-place safety and hygiene regulation and employment rights and obligations including wrongful termination and employment discrimination. Mr. Elegante has served as lead advocate in several major arbitrations and in numerous state and federal court-ordered mediations.

Kathy Elton is the owner of Kathy Elton Consulting. She worked for the Utah State Court system for over 20 years and served as the Director of Alternative Dispute Resolution Programs for seven years. Kathy has over 12 years of experience serving as a mediator in many different dispute areas. She currently serves as the Chair of the Utah Council on Conflict Resolution, was named as the Peacekeeper of the year in 2006 and was named Community Builder of the Year award in 2002. She specializes in high conflict family disputes, multi-party conflicts and family disputes involving domestic violence.

Mary Ann Erickson is an IT Manager with the State of Utah. She completed training in mediation in April 2003 through the Conflict Resolution Certification Program at the University of Utah. Since July 2003, Mary Ann has mediated many debt/loan, property, landlord/tenant, consumer/merchant and accident disputes through Small Claims Court, Third District Appeals and Utah Dispute Resolution.

Sharlene is qualified in Domestic, Basic, and Parent/Teen Mediation. She received her training from Tamara Fackrell-Master Mediator, and has taken an advanced psychology course in mediation. Sharlene is currently serving an internship with the 4th District Court Office of the Guardian ad Litem and is a senior at BYU majoring in Psychology with an emphasis in clinical and developmental Psychology. She is the mother of seven children and has extensive experience in teen mentoring and instruction. She has specialized training in Parent/Teen and Divorce Mediation. Sharlene is a member of the Utah Council for Conflict Resolution.

Appointed District Judge 1987. Retired from bench December 1, 2005. Had broad general practice experience as lawyer. Trained in Civil Mediation at the National Judicial College 2002. Trained in Divorce Mediation in Utah November 2005. Began mediation practice January 1, 2006. Assisted in settling numerous cases during 20 years on the bench. Have conducted mediation sessions since January 1, 2006, with excellent results.

Tamara Fackrell is an Attorney Mediator specializing in family law and mediation. She graduated cum laude from BYU Law School and is teaching her tenth year as part-time faculty teaching Basic Mediation and Advanced Mediation. She is a Master Mediator and has trained community members in mediation for nine years. She received a bachelor's degree in Psychology and Communications graduating magna cum laude. She became qualified for the Utah Court Roster in 1997 mediating hundreds of cases since that time. Tamara served on the founding boards of the Community Mediation Center and the Utah Council on Conflict Resolution.

Shari Faulkner, a master mediator and experienced paralegal, has over ten years of mediation experience. In Shari's mediations, parties have successfully resolved complex issues of divorce, custody, co-parenting, elder-care and probate. Shari believes that many family-related issues can be settled in mediation--easier, cheaper, faster and with less stress than going through litigation. Shari has been a mediator for the co-parenting mediation program since its inception in 1997. She is currently chair of the Family Section of UCCR and a member of the Family Law and Dispute Resolution Sections of the Utah State Bar.

Crystal Ferguson is a paralegal with basic and domestic mediation training. She has experience in small claims, landlord/tenant, employment/labor and domestic. Crystal is actively involved in all aspects of mediation. She volunteers time at the second district, Layton court. Gary Millward is a current law student at BYU's J Reuben Clark Law School, with an anticipated graduation date of April 2008. Shirley Pappin is a master mediator in Salt Lake City and the surrounding areas. She is the president of the Divorce Mediation Institute of Utah established in 1998. Russ Price is the Federal Compliance Manager at Utah State University, and lectures in research ethics. Prior to his current position, Mr. Price spent ten years involved in technology commercialization and licensing, and is familiar with all aspects of intellectual property development. Anna Ratsapasith is an accounting student at Utah Valley State College. Anna is trained in basic mediation under Tamara Fackrell. Naomi Roberts is a paralegal. She received her basic mediation training from the Community Mediation Center at BYU and domestic mediation training from UVSC. Zoe Ann holds a bachelor's degree in Social and Behavioral Science from the University of Utah along with a certificate in Criminology and Corrections. Zoe completed 105 hours of post graduate Conflict Resolution Mediation Program requirements also through the University of Utah. Zoe is a member of UCCR, regularly attending training to stay updated on the latest information. She practices transformational mediation. Carrie Robinson is currently pursuing her Bachelor's degree at Utah Valley State College, which will be completed in August 2007. John E. Schindler has practiced law continually since graduating from law school in 1976. Mr. Schindler maintained an office as a sole practitioner since his admission to the Utah state Bar in 1982 until closing that office in December, 1999. Mr. Scott is a member of the American Arbitration Association's Panel of Mediators, (1966) Regular and Large Complex Construction Case Arbitration Panels (1987) and serves on the American Arbitration Association's National Faculty of Construction Arbitrator Trainers.

Jill Sheinberg is an attorney (admitted in New York) who specializes in mediation in Utah. She received her basic mediation training in New York City where she worked for five years as a community mediator to resolve disputes between family members, neighbors, employees, and landlord/tenants. She has completed the Utah Court-Annexed ADR Program and a Business Mediation course at the Cape Cod Institute. Ms. Sheinberg has trained teachers, law students, community-based organization staff and community residents in conflict resolution and communication skills. Ms. Sheinberg serves as a volunteer Mediator with the Utah Juvenile Court Mediation Program. She is a member of the Academy of Family Mediators, the Society for Professionals in Dispute Resolution and the National Association for Community Mediation.

Barb Shillingford is a certified and licensed mediator. She has a BS in Sociology and has extensive experience in employment, contract, small claims and family cases. She completed both basic and domestic mediation training from Community Dispute Resolution Services. She has substantial familiarity with the emotional aspects of human behavior, and possesses an articulate ability to conduct productive mediation sessions. She is a firm believer in the process of mediation and that many family-related issues can be settled by the parties themselves. She is a member of the Association for Conflict Resolution.

Daniel Shipp has studied medicine and neuroscience at Berry College, Ricks College and BYU. He has worked in the BYU Neuropsychology Laboratory on various projects since 2001. Daniel is a serious illness survivor and has gained intimate experience with the health care field as a patient and a health care professional, working with numerous physicians. He has served as President or Organization Officer of the BYU Cancer Awareness Group since 2002. Daniel is trained in crisis intervention and is a member of the Utah County Rape Crisis Team; he also volunteers at the Center for Women and Children in Crisis. Second language spoken: Tagalog.

Melanie Smith holds a Bachelors degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix and a Postgraduate Certificate from the University of Utah in Conflict Resolution, mediation and negotiation. Additional mediation training includes Workplace Mediation through Salt Lake County as well as Domestic Mediation through UDR. Melanie has over 20 years experience in peer counseling and coordinating high stress communication. She is currently a workplace mediator for Salt Lake County and has experience mediating a variety of disputes including debt collection, visitation, custody, and divorce issues. She is also a non-attorney member of the Utah State Bar.

Meggan McLean Stein has been mediating disputes in Utah and Washington since 1998. She has a JD from BYU Law School and a Master's Degree of Dispute Resolution from Pepperdine Law School's Strauss Institute. At Utah Dispute Resolution, Meggan coordinated a Peer Mediation Program in collaboration with Horizonte Learning and Training Center. As the acting Executive Director, Volunteer Coordinator and Trainer at the King County Dispute Resolution Center in Seattle Washington, Meggan trained, oriented and mentored aspiring mediators. Meggan also developed and coordinated an Agricultural Employment Mediation Program for the state of Washington. Meggan mediates domestic, workplace, victim/offender, and community disputes. I am a graduate of Brigham Young University in the Psychology department. I am a strong believer in mediation and I know that it can help make a tough situation a little easier. My parents went through a divorce and used mediation. I was able to see how much it helped them get through their situation and make the best of it. I feel through my experiences I can help others achieve these same feelings of peace my parents enjoyed.

Michele Straube has focused exclusively on mediation and facilitating shared decision-making for the past ten years. She has developed and taught numerous mediation, negotiation skills, and conflict prevention courses, in addition to teaching about dispute resolution as an adjunct at the University of Utah S. J. Quinney College of Law. She has extensive mediation training and experience in a variety of areas, including adult guardianship, workplace disputes, environmental and public policy issues. She also mediates EEOC cases for the US Postal Service, and has conducted volunteer mediations on a variety of topics through Utah Dispute Resolution.

Katie Sullivan received formal training and certification in mediation in 2006 through the Postgraduate UDR Certificate Program at the University of Utah. In addition, she earned a PhD in organizational communication and conflict resolution and has taught courses in work and conflict at Westminster College and the University of Utah, among others. Katie currently volunteers as a mediator for the Small Claims Court Mediation Program in the Third District as well as the Law and Motion Court. Her areas of expertise include employment, labor, consumer/merchant, victim/offender, and landlord/tenant.

Over ten years experience in litigating, mediating and arbitrating medical malpractice, personal injury, civil rights, auto accident and general personal injury cases. Extensive appellate experience at both the state and federal court level. Currently sitting on the Utah Supreme Court Advisory Committee on Model Utah Jury Instructions and the Ethics and Discipline Committee of the Utah Supreme Court.

John Tanner is an experienced paralegal and law clerk. He has prepared numerous pleadings and documents, working with attorneys in family law and employment law matters. He holds a BS degree from Utah State University (2004). He has experience in family and consumer mediations. He mediates individually and co-mediates with Attorney James Tanner, in selected cases.

James Tanner is experienced in family and employment law and general private practice matters. As a federal attorney, he represented his agency in numerous arbitrations and EEOC and MSPB hearings. He was a government ethics instructor. Former university instructor in employment law and conflict resolution. James mediates individually or co-mediates with John Tanner, in selected cases. B.S. degree (Psychology) from Kanses State University; J.D. degree from Washburn University; M.S. degree in Family and Human Relations from Utah State.

I was trained as a mediator at the University of Utah Conflict Resolution Program for two semesters, which was taught and supervised by Michelle Haws. I hold a BS degree in Business Management (2005) from the University of Utah. I have experience as a landlord, in credit and debt processes, in money management and finances, in not-for-profit and business processes, especially management. I consider myself a skilled mediator and I enjoy the creative problem solving that is possible through mediation.

Allen Thomason is an attorney mediator/arbitrator in Utah. Allen's primary focus is in commercial, construction, domestic, employment, juvenile, labor, medical malpractice, personal injury, real property, and taxation. His professional background includes over 20 years combined experience in accounting, taxation, business, law and conflict resolution. He holds degrees in accounting, business administration, and law. In addition, he is also a certified public accountant and a private guardian ad litem. Allen is presently serving by appointment of the Utah Supreme Court as a Small Claims Judge, and as a panel member of the Ethics and Discipline Committee of the Utah Supreme Court. Although he maintains an office in both Salt Lake and Utah Counties, he is willing to travel throughout the State of Utah to mediate disputes.

Sherry Thompson possesses expertise in mediating both family and organizational conflicts. She is co-founder and Vice President of Divorce Education and Mediation. She has worked for the Utah Court system, Department of Human Services, and Division of Health Care Financing. She has conducted successful organizational mediations in both Utah and Oregon. Sherry has compiled and analyzed a data set of over 1,400 divorce cases, is extremely knowledgeable regarding the divorce process from the Court's perspective. She has a Doctorate in Organizational Change and an undergraduate degree in Psychology. She's a current member of the Utah Council on Conflict Resolution.

Cari Thomsen received advanced mediation training at UVU in conjunction with Paralegal studies and postgraduate domestic certification through Utah Dispute Resolution. She is a member of the UCCR. Cari has conducted numerous parent/teen and small claims mediations. She has extensive experience with Utah divorce laws and parenting issues. Cari believes that mediation generally provides more balance and less ongoing conflict to the parties than the court system provides, especially when children are involved. Her goal is to help provide knowledge, preventive measures, achieve agreeable solutions, and establish a system for problem-solving should conflict arise between the parties in the future.

Heather has been trained by Utah Dispute Resolution as a basic and domestic mediator. She has worked for UDR for over two years, coordinating their youth outreach and training programs. She teaches conflict resolution skills to alternative high school students and trains and advises the Peer Mediators at the school. She is in graduate school studying Secondary Science Education and holds a BS from Utah State University in American Sign Language Interpreting. She has volunteered for Salt Lake City Peer Court, Small Claims, Eviction, Debt Collection, and Victim-Offender mediations. She is comfortable with a variety of interpersonal relationship issues. Steven received his basic mediation training from the Utah Valley University mediation program, where he also received his associate's degree in Business Management. He is currently a student at Utah State University, where he will finish his studies in Psychology and Human Resource Management. He has conducted many sessions in the areas of landlord/tenant and basic small claims disputes.

Pamela C. Urry is an attorney and mediator in Salt Lake City, Utah, with a practice focusing primarily in civil matters, particularly family law, contracts, and estate planning. Pamela graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. degree from Utah State University and obtained a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Utah in 1989. In 2003, Pamela completed additional training in AOC approved basic and domestic mediation through Utah Dispute Resolution. Her mediation experiences focus primarily in resolving family law disputes.

Char Valentiner has completed over 125 hours of training in different areas of mediation including basic and advanced mediation, victim-offender, child custody, truancy, and CIT (conflict intervention team) training. Her mediation education has been obtained mainly through the Administrative Office of the Courts and Utah Dispute Resolution, which also provided workshops on teaching conflict resolution in alternative high schools, an area of interest because of her prior occupation, teaching high school sociology and English. She enjoys being a mediator and a volunteer for the Third District Court's victim-offender and school truancy programs as well as UDR's Horizonte teaching project.

David Van Dyke is an attorney/mediator practicing in Wayne County, Utah. Since graduating from Law School (1996), he has worked with and represented owners, developers, contractors, and subcontractors and has assisted them in resolving construction related disputes. He holds a Construction Management Degree from Brigham Young University and is a licenced General Contractor. He has completed both the Basic and Domestic Mediation Training Programs provided by Utah Dispute Resolution. He finds the mediation process rewarding because it empowers the parties to resolve their disputes on their own terms and conditions.

Judith Marie Wallace founded Sound Solutions Mediation and Facilitation Services in 1993. Since that time, she has conducted over 600 hours of mediation involving domestic, property, employment and commercial disputes. Ms. Wallace is also an experienced community facilitator and has worked extensively with communities engaged in development and land use conflict. Judith Marie graduated from the University of Washington with high academic honors and subsequently enrolled in the Masters in Business Administration program at Seattle University. In addition to her mediation practice, Ms. Wallace has 20 years management, small business consulting, and accounting experience in the profit and non-profit sectors.

Scott Waterfall enjoys assisting parties in resolving disputes. He has over 25 years experience as an attorney working in the areas of personal injury, insurance, business, estate and probate. He also serves as Judge in the Justice Court since 1992. He earned his law degree from Brigham Young University and bachelor and masters degrees in Accounting and Taxation. Related judicial service includes: Member of the Utah Supreme Court Rules of Civil Procedure Advisory Committee; Member of the Utah Uniform Fine and Bail Schedule Committee; Education Director of the Second District; adjunct faculty in the Weber State University School of Business.

Lane Waters is an attorney and mediator who has practiced law for more than 15 years. Among other areas, he has expertise and training in cases dealing with divorce, child custody, parenting time and special education. His sister is disabled, and for over 15 years he worked as a special educator teaching and supervising those who teach students with disabilities. He has expertise in IDEA and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act. He earned degrees in Special Education and Communications from Utah and BYU, his law degree from the U of AR and a certificate in Financial Management from Cornell University. Orson B. West is an experienced family law attorney and a member of the Collaborative Family Lawyers of Utah. He is a partner in the law firm of Carver & West, LLC and has practiced family law in Utah since 1983. He received his Bachelor of Science's degree from the University of Utah in 1975. After serving three years in the United States Marine Corps he attended law school at the University of Nebraska, graduating in 1982. Mary Jane Whisenant is an attorney with a private practice focusing on family law, and is a member of the Collaborative Family Lawyers of Utah. She is a mediator in the Court's Co-parenting Mediation Program, and is experienced in mediating in the areas of divorce, custody and co-parenting, victim/offender, and issues under the Americans with Disabilities Act. She received her undergraduate and J.D. degrees from B.Y.U., with additional training in mediation from Pepperdine University and the Key Bridge Foundation in New York.

Henry O. Whiteside, Ph.D. is the Managing Partner of LutraGroup SP, the authorized provider of Group Leader Training for the Strengthening Families Program as well as trainings in board roles and development. He received his education at Princeton University and Stanford University. In 2001 he completed the Conflict Resolution Certificate Program at the University of Utah. He has mediated small claims and appeals in 3rd District Court, Salt Lake County, and welcomes mediations in consumer-merchant, landlord-tenant, neighborhood disputes, education, and civil rights. He has served on and chaired the boards of non-profit organizations.

Lois received her mediatiion training from Salt Lake Community College, and the Utah Dispute Resolution (UDR) and Utah Council on Conflict Resolution (UCCR) trainings. She is a volunter mediator for small claims court and the law and motion hearings, and is a member mediator of Salt Lake Community College's Mediation Council. Lois is a procurement professional in the public sector, serving for over 28 years. She has a BS in Communications from Utah State University (1974), and is a Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) from the Institute for Supply Management (1990).

Shelley Wismer is a lawyer and a mediator whose practice focuses on real estate transactions and real estate industry practices, drawing on her past experience as the Utah Division of Real Estate's director of investigations of complaints filed against real estate brokers, appraisers, and mortgage brokers. She applies the knowledge that she gained through analyzing thousands of problem real estate transactions and the evidence gathered investigating those transactions. She also brings to her mediation practice experience as an Assistant Attorney General representing the Utah Division of Real Estate and prosecuting its cases involving the conduct of licensed real estate professionals.

Prior to completing the Basic and Domestic Mediation courses through UDR in 2006, I had participated in many family and interagency mediations through my employment. I enjoyed and realized the effectiveness of the process and decided to make myself official and expand my capabilities by honing my skills through the UDR courses. I have worked extensively with real estate, landlord/tenant, neighborhood, family and community issues. I also have experience in constuction, employment, small claims and debt matters. I enjoy assisting people to reach their best conclusions. I am open to communication about specific needs and accommodations on a case-by-case basis.

Susan is the Training Coordinator at Utah Dispute Resolution. UDR is a non-profit mediation organization providing affordable mediation to low income Utah residents. Susan obtained her Postgraduate Certification in Conflict Resolution at the University of Utah in 2007, and has also completed Domestic Mediation Training at UDR. She has a PhD in Anthropology, and extensive teaching experience at universities in Utah, the USA, and overseas. Susan has written about culture, gender, violence, addiction, and indigenous issues and has presented on these topics at international conferences. Susan brings all these experiences and expertise to her mediation work in Utah.
