Law Day 2012
The American Jury: We the People in Action
As a day set aside nationally to celebrate the rule of law, Law Day underscores how law and the legal process have contributed to the freedoms that all Americans share. For over 50 years, May 1 has been set aside to celebrate Law Day. The theme for this year's Law Day is "The American Jury: We the People in Action." The court's Community Outreach Subcommittee, chaired by Third District Court Judge Randall Skanchy, has been planning Law Day activities over the past six months. The subcommittee is under the umbrella of the Standing Committee on Judicial Outreach, which is chaired by Court of Appeals Judge Carolyn McHugh.
