Fake Rental Ads Scam

FOR_RENT_Sign.JPGThe Utah Division of Consumer Protection has recently alerted Utah residents of an increasing number of fake rental ads on online classified pages. Common characteristics of these scam ads might include:

  • the ad indicates the property cannot be shown in person
  • the telephone number listed in ads or follow up emails are for out of state or international numbers
  • the person claiming to rent the property requests the deposit by wire transfer.

    Law Library Closed on Pioneer Day

    800px-The_Mormon_pioneers_coming_off_Big_Mountain_into_Mountain_dell.pngThe law library, and all Utah State Court offices, will be closed next Tuesday, July 24th, in honor of Pioneer Day, a state holiday commemorating Mormon settlers' arrival to the Salt Lake valley in 1847. The law library will re-open on Wednesday, July 25th.

Here, you can search for a notary by name, city, zip code, and by foreign language spoken. Your search results will appear below the search boxes, and they can be sorted by any column.

    If you need to notarize a court pleading or form that you are filing in a Utah district court case, court clerks can notarize these filings.

    Law Library Closed on Independence Day

    4thofjuly.jpgThe law library and all Utah State Courts offices will be closed Wednesday, July 4, in honor of Independence Day. This holiday celebrates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence, which occurred on July 4, 1776. To learn more about the holiday, visit USA.Gov's Independence Day page.
