National Park Week
April 17-25, 2010 is National Park Week. To help celebrate and promote America's National Parks, entrance fees to all national parks will be waived.
The National Park Service was created in 1916 as a division within the Department of the Interior to "conserve the scenery and the natural and historic objects and the wild life therein and to provide for the enjoyment of the same in such manner and by such means as will leave them unimpaired for the enjoyment of future generations" (16 U.S.C. ยง1). Utah has five national parks, and seven national monuments.
