National Crime Victims' Rights Week
April 26 - May 2, 2009 is National Crime Victims' Rights Week.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the passage of the Victims of Crime Act (VOCA), 42 U.S Code §10601 et seq.
Utah has several services available for victims of crime:
- The Utah Office of Crime Victim Reparations provides qualified crime victims compensation for specific types of expenses. An informational flyer is available on their website.
- The Utah Office of Victim Services provides information, assistance and support to victims of crime whose victimizers are in the custody of the Utah Department of Corrections, and to employees who are victims of work place violence.
